Welcome to Krissy Dudley Psychotherapy Services
Welcome to my website, my name is Krissy and I am a BACP accredited psychotherapist based in Plymouth, Devon. I have many years experience working alongside those with various mental health challenges and hold a deep recognition that we are each individuals with our own individual experiences.
I am hugely passionate about psychotherapy and supporting you through the process. Over the last decade I have completed various trainings to ensure my toolbox is expansive meaning I can draw upon various therapeutic techniques in order to best meet your needs. I am trained in modalities such as Person-Centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Psychodynamic, Systemic practices and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). My specialism is trauma and my practice is neurodivergent friendly having both significant personal and professional experience of neurodiversity.
Training, qualifications and experience
• Professional doctorate in Counselling Psychology – ongoing
• Postgraduate Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Studies
• EMDR training (recognised by the EMDR association)
• BSc Hons Psychology – First Class Honours
• Level 5 in Psychotherapeutic Counselling
• Level 4 in Therapeutic Counselling
• Level 3 in Counselling Studies
• Level 3 in Working with Young People
I have completed various training courses on trauma, bereavement, addiction, suicide, sexual abuse and others.
Throughout my career as a psychotherapist I have worked as a counsellor in charities including bereavement and sexual abuse charities. I worked for a number of years at a local drug and alcohol rehabilitation unit supporting those detoxing and rehabilitating from substances and I have experience in the NHS as a trainee practitioner psychologist. I set up private practice in 2018.
In counselling and psychotherapy we can explore the roots of issues, process what may remain unprocessed currently, build self-esteem and help meet your wants, needs and wishes. I will support you through this process of self-discovery. Collaboratively, we will navigate the journey ahead. I will bring authenticity to the space as well as my experience to ensure I can best meet your needs. Sometimes, we don't know what we need and that is okay too! The only expectation I will ever have is that you come and be you to whatever extent you can be on that particular day. Therapy can feel daunting and unknown and I want to ensure you that I will be alongside you, holding space in a contained, accepting, safe and deeply compassionate way.

We cover practicalities such as confidentialities and then we have a discussion about what has brought you to therapy and what you feel you want, need or hope for from the space.
You are free to talk about anything you choose to.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how therapy works, or to arrange an initial assessment appointment. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to therapy, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right therapist to help.
All enquires are usually answered within 24 hours, and all contact is strictly confidential.
